Chelsea vs Huddersfield
Betting Preview by Johnbolton
Saturday, 2 February 2019 – Kick Off: 4pm
Chelsea host bottom of the table Huddersfield looking to bounce back from their midweek annihilation in the hands of Bournemouth. Following a not so inspiring first half display, the Stamford Bridge outfit completely collapsed in the second 45 minutes to concede 4 goals.
That was manager Maurizio Sarri’s biggest defeat as Chelsea manager and a rather embarrassing feat for Chelsea Football Club who suffered their biggest League loss since 1996.
The criticism towards Sarri has mostly been about his persistence with his tactics and inability to use a plan B.
The Chelsea manager though believes that the problem is not necessarily in the tactics but his players’ failure to get to grasp and execute it properly.
Changes are expected after the manner in which Chelsea suffered defeat against Bournemouth. Which could mean a return to the starting line-up for Willian and Marcos Alonso, and a possible return to the bench for want away Callum Hudson Odoi.
Luckily for Chelsea and Sarri, there is still time to turn things around.
The same cannot be said about opponent Huddersfield who are without a win in 12 matches and are 12 points off the drop zone. To put things into perspective, Huddersfield have lost 10 of their previous 11 matches in the league, away from home this season, their record reads 7 losses, 3 draws and one win. and their only away win in the current campaign happens to be their last win in the league. The team look destined for the drop barring something extraordinary, manager Jan Siewert faces a daunting task to steer the team to safety, but most importantly, he needs to get his team to start scoring goals. Aaron Mooy should get a start if fit enough.
With Chelsea facing certain troubles, Huddersfield Town may work to keep this close, they will look to frustrate Chelsea by sitting back and then look to score one on the counter. That being said, it is hard to see anything but a Chelsea win, with Chelsea looking to start on a front foot to calm the atmosphere at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea 2 0 Huddersfield
